Tooth colored cavity fillings
This treatment restores partially damaged or decayed teeth. It helps in further preventing tooth decay and the teeth looks normal. Such type of treatment requires specific expertise to make teeth look normal and with zero after hassles to the patient.
Normally tooth decay occurs because the sugar in refined food products causes an acididc reaction with the tooth enamel and that causes the start of decay in any teeth.
This can be prevented by Pit and Fissure Sealants and regular dental check up once a year.
- Pit and fissure Sealants: In some cases the shape/anatomy of the tooth is such that the grooves and fissures on the biting surface of the teeth are very deep, in such cases there are higher chances of food retention causing it difficult to clean and hence causes cavitation in long run. In such cases we can fill the deep groves pattern with a flowable transparent filling material which will hence prevent food retention and the tooth can be self cleansed easily.
- Glass Ionomer cement (GIC) fillings: These are tooth colored cement fillings which are used for kids specially or in small cavities after removal of decay and the process is completed in a single visit.
- Composite fillings: These are permanent filings used for adults. It is plastic like and we make sure that it is perfect match for any tooth color and looks most natural. They are especially useful for front tooth restorations since composites have wide range of color, hue and saturation. They can be your best smile mates.
- Post and Core build up: If the tooth is broken or the decay is very extensive then the tooth needs a post and core build up. In this process after a RCT the roots of the teeth are strengthened by inserting a metallic/fibre post ,it serves as an anchor to hold the filling material and hence the core build up will strengthen the tooth and increase its life.
